Pousada da Praia is a B&B on Ubatuba's Praia de Felix, just south of Rio de Janeiro's state border. Hidden from view by dense tropical foliage, nature takes root in every nook and cranny of this private pousada that is steps away from the small, secluded beach. The staff lay out papaia just outside the breakfast patio to bring colourful birds in close for viewing. The birds oblige. Pousada da Praia is an excellent option for a weekend escape from Sao Paulo's raging city. The only noise here is from the surf. Simple, rustic apartments with equipped kitchens also allow for larger congregations and longer stays.
